Frequently asked questions
Where is Merzouga and how do I get there?
Merzouga is a village at the foot of the Erg Chebbi dunes in south-east Morocco, about 560 km from Marrakech and 470 km from Fes. You can arrive by car, by bus (Supratours / CTM) or fly to Errachidia airport (130 km). We can organise private transfers from anywhere in Morocco.
When is the best time to visit the Sahara?
October to April is the most pleasant season, with warm days and cool nights. Summer (June to August) is very hot, so we schedule activities early in the morning and at sunset. Desert nights can be cold in December and January, so bring a warm layer.
Do I need experience to ride a quad or drive a buggy?
No. Every ride starts with a safety briefing and our guide stays with you the whole time. Beginners ride on easier terrain, and experienced riders can go for the bigger dunes. Children can ride as passengers with a parent.
How do I book and pay?
Send us a message on WhatsApp or by email with your date and number of people. We confirm availability, usually within a few hours. No online prepayment is needed: you pay in cash (MAD, EUR or USD) on the day of the activity.
Can you pick me up from my hotel?
Yes. Pick-up and drop-off from any hotel, riad or camp in Merzouga and Hassi Labied is free for 4x4 tours. For quad, buggy and camel activities, we meet you at your hotel or at our base at the dunes.
What should I bring?
Sunglasses, sunscreen, a hat or scarf (we can lend you a chèche), comfortable closed shoes and a warm layer for sunrise or evening activities. For overnight camps, a small backpack is enough: your big luggage can stay at the hotel.
Can you create a custom or multi-day tour?
Absolutely. We can combine any experience into a tailor-made itinerary, and we also organise multi-day tours across Morocco from Marrakech, Fes or Casablanca, through the Atlas Mountains, Dades Gorge, Todra Gorge and the Sahara.
What is your cancellation policy?
Plans change, and we understand. Free cancellation up to 24 hours before your activity. Because of weather (sandstorms or rain), we will always reschedule or refund.
